Meaning: from Latin angelicus meaning "angelic", which originally came from Greek angelos meaning "messenger".
Angelica is also the name of a genus of flowers as well as an herb that has several culinary and medicinal uses.
Angelica was also used in Orlando Furioso, an Italian epic poem first published in 1483 and then 1495.
