Anina
Origin: Hebrew, Aramaic, Romanian, Latin
Meaning: a German diminutive of Anna, the Greek form of Channah, a Hebrew feminine name meaning "favor" or "grace".
I've also seen it listed as an Aramaic feminine name meaning "answer my prayer".
It's also the name of a Romanian city which comes from the Romanian word anin meaning "alder", though it also seems to be a Romanian word, a verb meaning "hang" derived from Latin.
Variants:
- Anena
- Annina (Italian)
