Julep
Origin: Persian
Meaning: from Persian gulab or golab meaning "rose water" from Persian elements gul (rose) and ab (water), which eventually became julep in English.
Julep is the name of a drink that originally referred to a sweet drink made out of water and sugar, used as a medicinal drink, and later became an alcholic drink with bourbon or brandy and crushed or shaved ice and garnised with mint.
