Vashti

Vashti most likely has Persian origins and perhaps means "beautiful" or "best".

It could also be related to Hebrew, meaning either "thread" or "when drinking" or "that drinks".

Interesting fact: the Hebrew alphabet doesn't have a V so Vashti was originally Washti, from the letter waw, the sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet; it's also a demonstrative article meaning "and" as well as meaning "hook" or "peg", used strictly for the hook/pegs that kept the curtains of the tabernacle in place.
