Meaning: a Greek feminine name meaning "snow".

The name of several figures in Greek mythology, including a daughter of the Oceanid Callirrhoe, who was turned into a snow cloud by Hermes. Chione is also the name of an Aurae (wind nymph), who was the goddess of the snow and winter and the daughter of Boreas (god of the north wind, who also had a lover named Chione as well).
