Meaning: Greek feminine form of Electra meaning "amber" from Greek elektron.

In Greek mythology, Electra is the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, and the sister of Orestes and Iphigenia. She and her brother killed their mother and her lover after Clytemnestra had him killed for sacrificing their daughter Iphigenia.
