Lydian

Origin: Greek

Meaning: it means "from Lydia" or "of Lydia", referring to someone from the kingdom or region of Lydia. Lydia itself derives its name from a former king, Lydus (the Lydians called themselves the Sfard while the Greeks called them the Meiones and their kingdom Maeonia). I've seen Lydus as meaning "play" or "sport" but I can't be positive about that.

Variants:
  • Lydia
