Hyades
Origin: Greek
Meaning: from Greek meaning "the rainy ones" or "rain bringers". In Greek mytholgy, the Hyades were nymphs, sisters that brought rain. They were turned into stars after the death of their brother Hyas, killed by a lion.
The Hyades is also the name of a star cluster.
I've also seen the name as being derived from Greek hys meaning "swine".
Masculine forms:
- Hyas
